How networking with other businesses works . . .

If you’re new to networking how does it work? The simple answer is trust.  The group meets every fortnight and over time members get to know each other, build relationships and learn about their individual businesses.

The more they understand about each of the businesses in the group, and the more they feel that they can trust the others to deliver a quality service, then the easier it is to recommend another member with confidence when they hear a comment such as, “I really need to find a good electrician”.

The true test is “Would you recommend another business to your best client if you didn’t believe that they would receive a first class service!

Members of the group are also encouraged to meet up with each other outside of the meetings, for coffee or at their premises, to gain a deeper understanding of how each of the businesses works, what they are looking for and what challenges they face in the business world.

You & I runs a “one member – one profession” policy so once a profession is covered no other business from that profession is allowed to join effectively locking out your competition.

The main thing to remember is that you are not “selling to the room”. You are educating the room about your business so that THEY can go out and sell your service to their extended network of contacts and they will be doing the same for you.

That’s why it’s called NETWORKING!
